19th century Pine side table with Provenance
19th century Pine side table with Provenance
2180
A 19th century pine work or side table. Raised on thick square tapered legs. A single drawer to the front with ebonized pulls and retaining the lock but no key. The whole pained in a beautifully aged maroon paint which has worn in all the right places.
This table is far from the 'fine' antiques which would have adorned the main living quarters of Holkham Hall. Its likely that given its simplistic workaday design and time worn appearance this table was used in the servants quarters.
Provenance. Holkham Hall. Norfolk - England
Condition.
We have done minimal sympathetic restoration to not loose any of its time worn, original appearance
Apparent wear to the painted surface which we have cleaned and given a light coat of wax
Frames structurally very good.
