A rather unusual mid 19th century desk chair. Constructed in ash and elm with fruitwood arms. The chair came from a cutlers in Sheffield and appears to be have been given in remembrance of Richard Woolhouse 1778-1852. A table knife Cutler in Sheffield England.
The chair is raised on turned legs joined by stretchers and with a nicely formed elm slab seat. The back with pierced splats joined by a shaped back rest and arms. The backrest with the steel remembrance Plaque.
Structurally in good solid order and with nice wear to the original black painted finish.
