An early Victorian walnut and leather armchair. The chair seat lifts up from the back and hinges forward at the front, the back also reclines slightly. I must admit I'm not too sure why the chair functions this way and could be some sort of fix to a medical problem but that's just a guess. It is however a very attractive chair and functions perfectly well as a regular armchair. 

The leather is in worn condition and dry in places and some of the buttons have been replaced on the seat.

There is a stamped Dimond registration mark which has helped date this to 8th February 1843
