Antique 19th Century Hoop Back Winsor Chair
Antique 19th Century Hoop Back Winsor Chair
2613
A 19th century Ash and Elm hoop back Winsor chair. The primitive legs joined by a crinoline stretcher that is oddly made from Bamboo which could possibly be a later make do and mend repair, either way it does the job and the chair stands firm. The single slap seat elm which has a rather attractive knot in and and characterful grain throughout.
Overall the chair is in great condition with no loose joints and a particularly wide seat.
The right arm is and right front leg have evidence of historic worm which is cosmetic and doesn't affect the chairs stability.
39cm seat height
